The Waterside Centre is a busy place with lots going on. We welcome help from committed volunteers who are able to offer our service users 1:1 attention where extra help is needed, or to work with small groups on a specific project.

Our volunteers come to us for a variety of reasons, maybe you are retired or the kids are at school and you are looking for something meaningful to do during the day? You want to work in Health and Social Care and need some experience? You are unable to work due to illness or disability, but need a purpose? Or you would like to give something back to the community?

We specifically need volunteers who can help with:

• Teaching individuals how to access the internet and use IT (computers and tablets)

• Getting service users involved in both our garden and our nearby allotment.

• Helping service users to make things out of wood

However, if you have another skill or talent that you could share with us, we would love to hear from you. Are you artistic, musical, teach dancing, or great at doing hair or make up?

In return for your help, we will refund your out of pocket expenses; provide refreshments (including lunch if you are here all day); write references and promise a lot of fun!

If you wish to apply to be a volunteer, please download the application form and email it to elaine.precious@thewatersidecentre.co.uk or drop it in to us.

In order to volunteer, you will need to provide two references, and undergo a DBS check (formerly CRB/police check) and attend an informal meeting.

If you wish to know more, please give us a call, and arrange to drop in and meet us.
